Government of Kerala to invest heavily in Silverline land acquisition

The Kerala government has announced a compensation package worth Rs 132.65 billion to acquire land for the Kerala semi-HSR corridor project (Silver Line). The project, known as Silver Line, involves constr­uc­tion of 529.45 km third and fourth rail lines semi-HSR between Ko­chuveli in Thi­ruva­nanthapuram and Kasaragod to operate trains running at a speed of 180 kmph. The project is being implemented by Kerala Railway Develop­ment Corporation Limited at an estimated cost of Rs 639.4 billion.
