The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has rejected telcos’ demand for fixing a floor price for voice and data tariffs on grounds of a potential objection from the Competition Commission of India. TRAI believes that such a move may amount to the regulator being a part of an industry cartel.
