The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) conducted inspection and speed trials on the 17.5 km long Taroki-Rowghat section under the Dalli Rajhara-Rowghat New Railway Line Project (Phase I of Dalli Rajhara-Jagdalpur New Line Project) on September 22, 2026. With this, the entire project has been commissioned.
The project involved laying of a new 95 km long railway line connecting Dalli Rajhara to Rowghat mines in the state of Chhattisgarh with an investment of Rs 16.28 billion. It was implemented as Phase I of the Dalli Rajhara-Jagdalpur new line project (225 km). Further, it was divided into two packages; Dalli Rajhara-Keoti section (Package 1) and Keoti-Rowghat section (Package 2). The new line will facilitate the transportation of iron ore to Bhilai Steel Plant.
