NHAI makes monthly drone survey mandatory for all NH projects

NHAI has made the use of drones for monthly video recording of national highway projects mandatory during all stages of development, construction, and operation and maintenance (O&M). Contractors and concessionaires will carry out the drone video recording in the presence of supervision consultants and upload comparative project videos for the current and previous months on NHAI’s portal “Data Lake”, capturing various project-related developments over the month. Supervision consultants shall analyse these videos and provide their comments on these digital monthly progress reports, covering various aspects of project development. These videos will also be used by NHAI officials during physical inspection of the projects to check for discrepancies and rectifications madeon the basis of earlier observations. In addition, project directors from NHAI will undertake monthly drone surveys from the date of signing a contract agreement till the beginning of project construction at the site, as well as on completion of the project. NHAI will also undertake monthly drone surveys for all developed projects where NHAI is responsible for O&M.
