Amilionn Technologies (ATPL) said that its BharatNet Phase 3 optical fibre deployment in Himachal Pradesh, being executed for ITI Limited, has surpassed 40 per cent completion. The project, which commenced in June 2025, is building the fibre backbone to connect gram panchayats (GPs) and blocks in the state to high-speed broadband under BharatNet Phase 3.
BharatNet Phase 3 in Himachal Pradesh divides the state into seven zones, with networks built on ring architecture and IP-MPLS topology to ensure connectivity is maintained even if a single route is disrupted. Amilionn’s scope covers 11 blocks of Mandi district, spanning Mandi Sadar, Balh, Bali Chowki, Chauntra, Dharmpur, Drang, Gohar, Gopalpur, Karsog, Seraj and Sundarnagar, some of the most demanding fibre-laying terrain in the country.
On the ground, teams are trenching armoured optical fibre cable underground to specified depths, using horizontal directional drilling to cross roads and obstacles, laying high-density polyethylene (HDPE) ducts with protective slabs and pipes, and blowing 24-core fibre through the ducts. The project is supported by zone-wise warehouses, right-of-way permits facilitated with ITI and BSNL, and acceptance testing coordinated with independent engineers.
Once commissioned, Amilionn will operate and maintain the network for three years.
