The field surveys for various quadrupling railway projects in Kerala have been completed and detailed project report (DPR) preparation is underway.
These projects are Shoranur-Coimbatore Third and Fourth Railway Line Project (99 km), Shoranur-Ernakulam Third Rail Line Project (107 km), Shoranur-Mangalore Third and Fourth Rail Line Project (307 km) and Kayankulam-Thiruvanathapuram Third Rail Line Project (105 km).
Besides, the Ernakulam-Kayankulam Third Rail Line Project (via Kottayam) project remains at the field survey stage, while the Thiruvanathapuram-Nagercoil Third Rail Line Project has only been sanctioned for DPR preparation.
