The Union Government approved the GIFT City – Shahpur Metro Project on February 24, 2026. The project spans 3.33 km and entails investment of Rs 10.67 billion.
The project will be implemented by Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRC), a 50:50 joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat.
