North Central Railway (NCR) has conducted successful Kavach trial on the Dadri-Tundla section under the Prayagraj division of the North Central Railway (NCR) zone with a 20 coach Vande Bharat Express train at a speed of 160 km per hour (kmph). ITALCERTIFER, an Italian safety assessment agency is supervising the trial run under an independent safety audit (ISA).
The test involves comprehensive evaluation of various key aspects like Kulwa loop line speed control test which automatically handles the train’s speed under safe limit while entering the station’s loop line, auto-whistling for whistling at level crossing (LC) gates, among others. Following this, NCR has also planned to conduct trials with conventional WAP-5 and WAP-7 electric locomotives.
