Haldia Container Terminal, operated by JM Baxi Group at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, achieved a record-breaking performance in December 2025 by handling its highest-ever monthly container throughput of 22,654 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs). This surpasses the previous record of 21,691 TEUs set just a month earlier in November 2025.
The milestone underscores the growing confidence of shipping lines, cargo owners and stakeholders in the terminal’s capabilities. The record performance highlights the terminal’s increasing role in strengthening container handling capacity on India’s eastern coast.
