Centre plans to develop rating system for contractor performance in NH works

The Ministry of Road, Transport, and Highways (MoRTH) is creating a rating system to evaluate the success of contractor companies involved in national highway (NH) projects. In a draft proposal, the ministry stated that the contracts would be categorised into three groups for rating purposes: projects worth at least Rs 1 billion up to Rs 3 billion; projects worth more than Rs 3 billion up to Rs 10 billion; and projects worth more than Rs 10 billion.

According to the document, the rating exercise will be conducted once a year. In the first iteration, eligible projects up until February 15, will be considered and ideally rated by March 31. After that, eligible projects up until November 15 will be considered and ideally rated by December 31 each year.
