The Ministry of Railways (MoR) has inaugurated four Gati Shakti cargo terminals (GCTs) in Gujarat on September 15, 2026. These include GCT at Shivlakha in Kachchh, GCT at Bhimasar in Kachchh, the GCT at Devaliya in Morbi, and the GCT at Chandisar in Banaskantha, providing freight connectivity between the ports of Gujarat and the northern hinterland.
Besides, foundation stone was laid for GCT at Linch in Mahesana. Overall, Indian Railways (IR) has commissioned a total of 150 GCTs till September 15, 2026. Previously, in August 2026, IR already commissioned four GCTs which includes Nalli in Tamil Nadu, Shaktinagar in Uttar Pradesh, Deoragram in Madhya Pradesh, and Brajrajnagar in Odisha.
