Karnataka government approves feasibility study for proposed Bengaluru-Tumakuru Metro Extension Project

The government of Karnataka has approved a feasibility study for the proposed Bengaluru-Tumakuru Metro Extension Project. On September 25, 2025, the state government issued an order, directing Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited to prepare a detailed project report for implementing the project. Besides, it has been granted Rs 30 million for the same by the state government.

The project will be an extension of the Bengaluru Metro spanning approximately 59.6 km with 25 stations from Madavara (Bangalore International Exhibition Centre) to Tumakuru. It entails an investment of Rs 206.49 billion.
