The Adani Group has registered the company Adani Trivandrum International Airport Limited despite the airport’s privatisation plan facing persistent resistance from the Kerala government. In June 2019, the state government had demanded that Trivandrum airport be exempted from being handed over to a private agency despite the fact that in February 2019 the Adani Group had won the bid for the airport.
