70 per cent progress achieved on Package V of Mullaperiyar Combined Drinking WSS

About 70 per cent progress has been achieved on the Package V of the Mullaperiyar Combined Drinking WSS in Tamil Nadu under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0. Besides, of the total 100 wards, work on household connections was completed in 65 wards and water supply has commenced in the rest 35 wards recently.

The scope of work involves providing households with a regular water supply of 135 million litres per day (mld) capacity, as compared to the current 100 mld. The work on providing connections to core city households are expected to be completed by December 2025.  Besides, more than 95 per cent work has been completed on the Package IV of the project.
