Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL) has entered into a 99-year lease agreement with the Government of West Bengal to acquire about 40 acres of contiguous land at Mouza Kotrung and Mouza Bhadrakali in Uttarpara, West Bengal. The total investment is estimated at Rs 1.26 billion. This acquisition will expand the manufacturing area of TRSL’s existing Uttarpara facility from around 34 acres to 74 acres.
The additional space is expected to provide dedicated areas for forming, testing, and commissioning of metro coaches and Vande Bharat coaches. A test track will also be constructed for conducting dynamic and running tests of the trains prior to delivery.
