Captain of Ports Department, Government of Goa to prepare a maritime and waterways master plan for the state

The Captain of Ports Department, Government of Goa has decided to prepare a maritime and waterways master plan for the state. The master plan for the state’s 105 km-long coastline and riverine network will have short-term, medium-term and long-term goals to boost maritime cargo transportation and passenger movement.

In order to create new revenue streams, the department is likely to look at private sector investments and central funding to develop new infrastructure or services, if required. As per reports, it would take about 10-12 months to prepare the master plan.
