Maha Metro plans extension of corridor IV under Nagpur Metro Phase II

Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha-Metro) has planned a 1.3 km extension of corridor IV (Kanhan River-Automotive Square) till Kanhan under the Nagpur Metro Rail Project Phase II. The proposal for the same is likely to be sent to the government of Maharashtra in April 2025. The estimated investment for the extension will be Rs 3 billion, hence escalating the total project cost to Rs 70 billion.

Earlier, the corridor was likely to terminate at Kanhan River, whereas with the proposed extension, a new station will also be built across the river at Kanhan.

The project involves an expansion of the metro network in Nagpur city in Maharashtra as phase II by 43.8 km to provide connectivity to nearby towns and villages.
