About 7.4 km out of 7.8 km tunneling has been completed on the Malahi Pakri Ramp–Rajendra Nagar and Akashvani stretch under the Patna Metro Rail Project Phase I. Besides, the remaining works are likely to be completed by October 2026. Meanwhile, Khemnichak station is likely to be operational by November 2026 under the project.
Phase I of the project involves the development of a 32.5 km long metro rail network in Patna, Bihar at an estimated cost of Rs 139.25 billion. It involves the development of two corridors, viz. Corridor 1 (Danapur Cantt-Mithapur) and Corridor 2 (Patna Junction-Patna ISBT).
