Government of Odisha to support the development of a ship recycling hub near Paradip Port

As per reports, the government of Odisha will support the development of a ship recycling hub near Paradip Port. This project is expected to entail an investment of Rs 40 billion. It will create a major centre for shipbuilding and repair in the region.

Besides, the state government is planning to develop two new ports with private sector participation. These include ports at Inchuri in North Odisha and Bahuda in South Odisha. Each port is projected to have a capacity of at least 40 million tonnes.

The state government is also focusing on bolstering rail connectivity to facilitate mineral and coal evacuation. The state is advancing its hydrogen manufacturing sector, with production expected to commence by the end of 2026.
