The Government of Telangana has sanctioned funds amounting to Rs 2.05 billion for the acquisition of about 280 acres of land under the Warangal Airport runway extension project in Telangana.
Besides, the GMR group has issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the project. The state is likely to handover the additional 253 acres of land to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) under the project.
The project involves the construction of a terminal building and the extension of the existing runway at the Warangal Airport in two phases.
