South Western Railway has achieved electrification of total 3,227 route km (rkm) of its networks till July 31, 2024. This is 97 pr cent of its cumulative broad-gauge network of 3,340 rkm. Meanwhile, the zone recorded passenger revenue of Rs 2.83 billion during July 2024 which is highest since its inception.
Further, during 2023-24, it has commissioned 29 km of new lines and 61 km of double lines along with achieving the track renewal of 245 track km (tkm).
Besides, it has also sanctioned a total of 2,096 km of final location survey projects with cumulative investment of Rs 468.69 billion.
