The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) is expected to conduct a safety inspection on the 46-km long Sangaldan-Reasi section of the Jammu-Udhampur-Katra-Qazigund-Baramulla new rail line project on June 27-28, 2024.
The project involves laying of 345 km long new railway line joining the Kashmir Valley with Indian Railways (IR) network from Jammu to Baramulla via Udhampur, Katra and Qazigund with an investment of Rs 419.31 billion. It is expected to provide an alternative and a reliable transportation system to Jammu and Kashmir.
