Union Government grants in-principle approval for Delhi-Rishikesh RRTS Project

The Union Government has granted in-principle approval for the Delhi – Haridwar – Rishikesh Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project. Besides, the detailed project report for the project is underway.

As per the project proposal, this extended line will start from Modipuram station in Meerut and enter Uttarakhand after passing through Muzaffarnagar. The line will then go through Roorkee and Haridwar via Har Ki Pauri and reach the final stretch at Laxman Jhula in Rishikesh. Of the total length spanning 150 km, 72 km will come under Uttar Pradesh and 78 km in Uttarakhand.
