Kolkata Metro Rail authorities conduct trial runs on orange line

On April 28, 2024, Kolkata Metro Authorities conducted trial runs on the newly extended stretch of the orange line, spanning from Ruby Crossing to Beleghata station along the Eastern Metropolitan (EM) Bypass. With a length of 4.39 km, this stretch will link Hemanta Mukhopadhyay station in the south to Beleghata in the north. This expansion is set to enhance connectivity and alleviate commuter congestion in key areas along the EM Bypass corridor.
