TBM S115 achieves breakthrough at RBS College under Package AGCC-02 of Agra Metro Phase I

Tunnel boring machine (TBM) S115 achieved the first breakthrough at RBS College station under Package AGCC-02 of the Agra Metro Rail Project-Phase I on April 13, 2024. This was the ninth breakthrough under the package.
Package AGCC-02 involves design and construction of tunnel from start of underground ramp (near Fatehabad Road Metro station) to end of ramp after RBS metro station including seven underground metro stations (Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Jama Masjid, S.N. Medical College, Agra Fort, Raja ki Mandi and RBS College) including architectural finishes, electrical and mechanical (E&M), tunnel ventilation system (TVS), environmental control system (ECS) etc. on Corridor-1. The joint venture (JV) of Afcons Infrastructure Limited and SAM India Builtwell Private Limited were awarded the contract for the same.
The Agra metro project involves development of 30 km long metro rail system in the city at an investment of Rs 83.79 billion.
