ONGC likely to drill exploratory well at Samastipur, Bihar by December

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) is likely to drill exploratory well at Samastipur block in Bihar by December 2024. It will entail an investment of Rs 300 to Rs 350 million. It has acquired 3D seismic data for 300 square meter area of the block and is planning to drill two exploratory wells. Additionally, it is also planning to drill an exploratory well at Ballia block, Uttar Pradesh. ONGC won Samastipur and Ballia blocks under the fourth round of Open Acreage Licensing Policy.
