Centre inaugurates Gati Shakti terminal facility in Andhra Pradesh

The Union Government has inaugurated the Gati Shakti terminal project of Ramco Cement in Andhra Pradesh. It will facilitate the transportation of crushed limestone from the mines of Ramco Cement in Budawada by rail wagons which use electric locomotives and delivered to the company’s integrated cement facility at Jayanthipuram, Jaggaiahpet Mandal, NTR district. The total distance covered by wagons will be 8.3 km which includes 4.9 km on south central main railway line connecting Mellacheruvu to Jaggaiahpet stations and 3.4 km on dedicated sidings established by the company. Besides, a redeveloped goods shed facility at Penukonda and a Gati Shakti multimodal cargo terminal at Doddaballapur were also inaugurated in South Western Railway (SWR) zone.
