Commercial operations commence at Kankaria station under Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro in Gujarat

Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) commenced commercial operations at Kankaria East station under East-West Corridor (Thaltej-Vastral) of the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro Rail Project -Phase I on March 4, 2024. Besides, work at Sabarmati station is almost complete and it is likely to be operational soon. Phase-I of the project has two corridors viz. East-West corridor, of approximately 20.73 Km length with 17 stations and North-South corridor of approximately 18.52 Km length with 15 stations, comprising of at-grade, elevated and underground sections.
