Jet Airways defaults on lease rentals, resolution plan yet to be finalised

Jet Airways, which is reeling under a financial crisis, has defaulted on aircraft lease rental payments owed to MC Aviation Partners since October 2018, though the aircraft lessor is yet to issue a repossession notice to the airline. The airline took a total of five B737 aircraft on lease in 2013 from MC Aviation Partners but could not pay the lease rentals. As a result, the airline has grounded two aircraft, taking the total number of grounded planes to 23. Jet Airways has been grappling with financial issues due to increasing debt and is currently awaiting a decision regarding the debt resolution plan.
