The Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway, initially slated for completion by October 2024, is encountering extended delays, primarily attributed to the slow progress in a stretch in Andhra Pradesh. Currently, at 51.5 per cent overall completion, the comprehensive 262 km project is now expected to be completed by June 2025. Progress varies across phases, with Karnataka at 78.1 per cent completion, while the fifth phase lags behind at 10.05 per cent. The project aims to enhance connectivity, benefitting regions such as Kolar, Chittoor, Vellore, Kancheepuram and Chennai.
