Nationwide programme, led by EITL, to train and place 1,000 certified MEWP resources a year at project sites
L&T Construction Skills Training Institute (CSTI) and MTandT Group have signed and exchanged a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to launch a joint skill development programme for mobile elevated working platforms (MEWP), the first initiative of its kind in India. The nationwide rollout will be led by evolution industrial training limited (EITL) MTandT Group’s specialised training division.
The MoU was signed on July 13, 2026 and formally exchanged between representatives of MTandT Group and L&T, with active participation from key leadership on both sides, Mr T S Suresh Babu, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), MTandT Group, and Zackir Hussain G, Chief Operating Officer (COO), MTandT Group; and Mr Raveendran, Director, EITL, and Radha Murali, Head of Department, EITL; Mr K Ramakrishnan, Head – HR (Workmen), L&T, and Mr J Raguraman, Head, Construction Skills Training and Development (CSTD), L&T.
Mr T S Suresh Babu, CEO, MTandT Group said, “This partnership goes beyond equipment and training rooms, it is about building a workforce that India’s infrastructure sector can depend on. By putting our equipment and our expertise directly into the hands of CSTI’s trainers, we are helping create MEWP resources who are ready for the job from day one.”

This collaboration addresses a pressing industry need, moving the sector from baseline regulatory compliance toward a culture of proactive risk elimination. By combining L&T CSTI’s training framework with MTandT Group and EITL’s field-tested operational expertise, the partnership aims to raise the quality of human resources powering India’s infrastructure sector, setting a new benchmark for uptime, productivity, and life safety.
