AESL wins Rs 85 billion transmission project in Andhra Pradesh under TBCB

Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) has won an inter-state transmission project worth nearly Rs 85 billion in Andhra Pradesh under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route. The company has acquired the project-specific special purpose vehicle, Vizag Power Transmission Limited, for implementing the project.

The project, titled “Transmission System for Proposed Green Hydrogen / Green Ammonia Projects in Vizag Area, Andhra Pradesh (Phase-I),” will support an estimated 4,500 MW power requirement of upcoming green hydrogen and green ammonia projects in the Vizag region. It will also cater to the rising electricity demand expected from the Pendurthi-Vizag region, where several data centre and digital infrastructure projects are coming up. The scope of work includes the development of a 4×1,500 MVA, 765/400 kV gas-insulated substation at Pendurthi (Vizag) and a 3×1,500 MVA, 765/400 kV substation at Khammam-II. With this project, AESL’s transmission portfolio will expand by 1,582 ckt km of transmission lines and 10,500 MVA of transformation capacity, taking its overall network to 29,531 ckt km and 133,675 MVA.
