PMC proposes construction of new WTP at Wadgaon Budruk in Pune, Maharashtra under AMRUT 2.0

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has proposed the construction of a new water treatment plant (WTP) at Wadgaon Budruk in Pune, Maharashtra under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0. The project involves the construction of a 125 mld WTP at Wadgaon Budruk at an estimated cost of Rs 2.2 billion. The plant will replace the existing 50-year-old 535 mld WTP at Parvati and provide water supply to areas along the Satara Road, which were earlier supplied by Parvati WTP. The funds for the construction of the plant will be provided by the centre under AMRUT 2.0 and PMC will provide funds for operation and maintenance.
