SJVN’s 60 MW NMHPS commissions commercial generation

SJVN Limited has commissioned both units of the 60 MW Naitwar Mori hydro power station situated on the River Tons, in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand. With this addition, the company’s total installed generation capacity now reached 2,152 MW. The project is expected to generate 265.5 million units of electricity annually. The generated power will be transmitted through a 37 km long 220 kV transmission line from Bainol to Snail. The project includes an 18.5 meters high and 50 meters long diversion structure at the top. Following the project’s commissioning, the state of Uttarakhand will receive 12 per cent of the electricity generated as royalty. Furthermore, each family associated with the project will receive an amount equivalent to the cost of 100 units of electricity per month for a period of ten years.
