The Gorakhpur Link Six-Lane Expressway Project (NH-27, SH-5) is expected to be open for public use by end-December 2023. Currently, about 82 per cent of the construction work has been completed. The project involves the construction of an 88.48 km long four/six-lane expressway, starting 1.3 km from the Jaipur underpass at Gorakhpur Bypass (NH-27) and 3.7 km west from the Gorakhpur-Mau intersection to 8.3 km east from Shahganj-Akbarpur road (SH-5) at Purvanchal Expressway. It also includes the construction of six major bridges along with interchanges at every national highway (NH), state highway (SH) and major district roads.
