Mandatory use of at least one port MHC at NMP berth no. 2, 3 and 4

As per reports, a policy has been formulated to make the use of at least one port mobile harbour crane (MHC) mandatory for vessels of general cargo berthing at berth nos. 2, 3 and 4 at New Mangalore Port (NMP). These include other than vessels requiring special equipment for handling over dimensional cargo. Accordingly, deployment of one port MHC shall be mandatory (subject to availability) for handling of cargo (other than over dimensional consignment) with effect from June 23, 2023.
