The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved six projects for implementation. These are the 100.6 km Muzaffarpur-Sagauli (Bihar) (estimated cost Rs 13.48 billion), the 109.7 km Sagauli-Valmiki Nagar (Bihar) (Rs 13.81 billion), the 116.95 km Bhatni-Aurnihar (Uttar Pradesh) (Rs 13.01 billion), the 425 km Jhansi-Manikpur and the Bhimsen-Khairar (Madhya Pradesh) (Rs 49.56 billion) line doubling projects with electrification, and the 130 km Jeypore-Malkangiri new line project (Rs 26.76 billion). While the Bhatni-Aurnihar and Jeypore-Malkangiri projects are scheduled for completion by 2021-22, the Jhansi-Manikpur and Bhimsen-Khairar projects are expected to be completed by 2022-23.
