Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways approves development of green hydrogen jetty at Paradip Port

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has approved development of a dedicated green hydrogen jetty at Paradip Port in Odisha, at an estimated cost of Rs 7.97 billion. The facility, to be developed on a build-operate-transfer basis by the Paradip Port Authority, will have a handling capacity of 4 million tonnes per annum for green hydrogen, ammonia and other liquid cargo.

The project includes a specialised jetty, storage systems, pipelines and handling equipment, and features a dredged depth of 14.3 metres at the berth for safe vessel operations. The Centre will contribute 80 per cent of the funds, with the port authority providing the remaining 20 per cent during construction, which is expected to be completed in 24 months.
