Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) successfully launched a 110.5 m long Open Web Steel Girder-the longest Rail Flyover (RFO) girder-weighing approximately 1,500 tonnes near Kalamboli on the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT)-Vaitarna section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor.
The project involves development of a 1,504 km long heavy haul freight corridor of double line electric (2 X 25 kV) tracks in Haryana, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh with an investment of Rs 511.01 billion. It is being developed in three phases, Vadodara-Rewari (Phase I), Vadodara-Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) (Phase II) and Rewari-Dadri (Phase III).
