The government of India has reportedly cleared the installation of 513 new 4G mobile towers in Chhattisgarh under the Digital Bharat Nidhi fund to restore peace, security and development in Naxal-affected and remote parts of the state.
As per the chief minister, Chhatisgarh, areas where stability has been achieved through sustained action by security forces and administrative coordination are now seeing targeted development initiatives, including the expansion of digital connectivity. He added that the new 4G towers, to be deployed through BSNL, will enable people living in far-flung and inaccessible regions to access reliable mobile and internet services for the first time.
Additionally, he noted that enhanced digital connectivity would mark a step towards financial inclusion, as improved mobile networks will allow smoother access to banking services, direct benefit transfers (DBT), unified payments interface (UPI), insurance, pension schemes and other digital platforms for citizens.
