South Western Railway (SWR) has achieved about 85 per cent progress for the land acquisition of the Tumkur-Chitradurga-Davangere New Railway Line project.
The project envisages development of 199.7 km long Tumkur-Davangere new broad gauge line via Sira, Hiriyuru and Chitradurga in Karnataka. The project has been taken up on a cost-sharing basis where the state government would contribute 50 per cent of the project cost and the remaining will be contributed by Indian Railway.
