The Central government has proposed the roll-out of high speed Vande Bharat Metro trains for short distances. They are expected to be rolled out by end 2023. Vande Bharat Metro is a scaled-down version of Vande Bharat Express, and will cater to towns within a 50-60 km range. They will benefit people by providing last-mile connectivity.
