Indian Railways achieves freight loading of 128.29 mt during April 2024

Indian Railways (IR) has achieved freight loading of 128.29 million tonnes (mt) during April 2024, which is 1.46 per cent higher than the freight loading in April 2023. Meanwhile, IR earned total freight revenue of Rs 140.75 billion during April 2024 as against Rs 138.93 billion in April 2023. Commodity wise, IR achieved loading of 57.64 mt in coal, 14.88 mt in iron ore, 5.24 mt in pig iron and finished steel, 6.79 mt in cement, 3.85 mt in foodgrains, 4.01 mt in fertilisers, 6.57 mt in containers among others.
