DoT planning to seek approval for reducing SUC from 5 per cent to 3 per cent

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is planning to seek cabinet approval for reducing spectrum usage charges (SUC) from 5 per cent of adjusted gross revenues to 3 per cent. This was approved by the Telecom Commission in its recent meeting in March 2016. Earlier, TRAI had also suggested a uniform 3 per cent SUC for all types of service providers, including broadband wireless access operators.
