The Odisha government has approved four power and renewable energy projects involving a combined investment of Rs 542.88 billion.
The approved projects include two thermal power plants by NLC India Limited – a 3,200 MW plant in Debagada with an investment of Rs 347.64 billion and a 1,080 MW plant in Anugola with an investment of Rs 116.04 billion. The approvals also include two pumped storage projects – a 600 MW project in Rayagada by BEKEM Infra Projects Private Limited with an investment of Rs 40.2 billion, and a 750 MW project in Koraput by Sri Avantika Contractor (I) Limited with an investment of Rs 39 billion. The projects were approved by the 46th High-Level Clearance Authority as part of a wider Rs 2.47 trillion investment pipeline covering 27 projects across 15 districts. The pipeline covers projects in various sectors, including data centres and artificial intelligence, steel, semiconductors, healthcare, textiles and advanced manufacturing.
