The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has introduced a digital verification process under which consumers must review and approve the Vendor-Consumer Agreement before rooftop solar installations can proceed under the PM Surya Ghar portal.
Under the revised process, vendors will upload the agreement through the portal, after which consumers will receive notifications to review and approve or reject it. Vendors will also be required to enter the total installation cost, including taxes and other charges, which must match the quotation submitted during the feasibility stage, wherever applicable. Installation details cannot be uploaded until the consumer approves the agreement. If an agreement is rejected, the vendor can submit a revised document based on the consumer’s remarks. Any changes made to an approved agreement will also require fresh consumer approval.
