Tunnel boring machine (TBM) Narmada has been commissioned at Airport station under the Indore Metro Rail Project Phase I. It is likely to travel underground stretch from Airport station to Bada Ganpati station. TBM Narmada had completed it’s factory acceptance tests in April 2026.
The project involves development of a metro rail transit system comprising ring line of length 31.55 km. It is being implemented by Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited. The project entails investment of Rs 194.72 billion.
