TYPSA receives work order for appointment of PMC for civil works under outer harbour development project at V.O. Chidambaranar Port

TYPSA India Private Limited has received a work order for a contract worth Rs 527.89 million for providing project management consultancy services (PMC) for construction of breakwater, rock bund, wharf and capital dredging and reclamation for backup yard and allied onshore facilities including maintenance thereof on hybrid annuity model under the outer harbour development project at V.O. Chidambaranar Port. Bids for the same were invited by V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority in March 2026. The work is expected to be completed in 1,444 days.

The project involves development of two no’s of container terminals of 1,000 metres quay length each in the outer harbour. The capacity of the two container terminals is assessed to be 80 million metric tonnes per annum [4 million twenty-foot equivalent units each]. It also involves construction of breakwater, capital dredging in the outer harbour basin and approach channel, construction of rubble bund for reclamation of dredged materials for creation of backup yard, berth/jetty construction, mechanisation in the berth and stack yard, railway line laying, navigational aids etc.
