The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has approved a Rs 3.35 billion internal flyover at Visakhapatnam Port Authority to improve cargo movement and reduce congestion. The 3.58 km elevated corridor will connect Convent Junction with the dock area, separating road and rail traffic and addressing delays at nine railway level crossings, which currently experience around 18 closures daily.
The project is expected to reduce vehicle waiting times, fuel consumption and operating costs while improving cargo evacuation.
