Indian Railways (IR) has planned a stake dilution of 5-10 per cent in six railway public sector undertakings (PSUs) in 2026-27 through the offer for sale method. These PSUs are Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, the Indian Railway Finance Corporation, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, Ircon International Limited, the RailTel Corporation of India, and RITES Limited. The stake sale is likely to generate revenue of around Rs 150 billion-Rs 200 billion. With this, IR aims to accomplish the asset monetisation target of Rs 2,623 billion allocated for the railways under the National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP) 2.0 for 2026-30. IR has also planned a smaller stake dilution of 2-3 per cent in Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR), retaining ownership of over 51 per cent. Currently, the Ministry of Railways (MoR) holds a 54.8 per cent stake in CONCOR.
